During a site tour in the morning, the delegation was briefed by the guide on the Resort’s development strategy and operational model. Puyuan Fashion Resort has preserved its traditional grid-style street layout and historic waterways, while restoring heritage buildings and introducing contemporary elements such as fashion, e-sports and visual arts.

The area now hosts a mix of cultural and commercial venues, including the JCC Art Centre, international designer brand stores, spaces for traditional craft experiences and themed dining outlets. The aim, according to the town’s operators, is to create a destination that combines cultural experiences, leisure tourism, animation and gaming, and fashion-led consumption.

In the afternoon, a roundtable discussion was held with representatives from Tongxiang cultural tourism and investment authorities, as well as Puyuan Tourism Development Co., Ltd. The discussion focused on integrating culture and tourism, developing an e-sports industry ecosystem, and introducing international performing arts projects.

Local representatives outlined Puyuan’s “culture, tourism, e-sports and fashion” development model, highlighting plans for a large-scale e-sports arena and themed animation and gaming zones currently under development.

Bryson Xue, chairman of CECCI, shared the work in international cultural communication, overseas performing arts exchanges and youth-focused cultural programmes. The two sides discussed potential cooperation in bringing international productions to Puyuan, launching joint youth cultural exchange initiatives, and exploring collaboration between industry, academia and research in the e-sports sector.

In the future, CECCI will play a role as a connector of international cultural resources, extend access to high-quality performing arts from overseas and develop long-term platforms of cultural exchange for youth. We will also approach combining e-sports with cultural tourism, which supports sustainable growth in the regional cultural sector and create a cultural innovation hub with international reach.
