Development Forum Information
The 2025 Asia-Europe Culture & Arts Development Forum, a landmark forum jointly created by leading Chinese-European cultural institutions and universities, gathered nearly 100 delegates from 20+ countries. Hosted by CECCI with The University of Edinburgh, Shanghai Theatre Academy, Beijing Normal University and other key partners, the forum featured morning sessions on international cultural exchange prospects, Asia-Europe market mechanisms and cross-cultural practices. The afternoon International Performing Arts Connection Conference brought together 13 international experts to discuss digital theatre management and repertoire localisation, while showcasing new productions with global potential. This integrated platform has opened new pathways for Asia-Europe cultural collaboration, marking a new phase in regional cultural exchange.

Development Forum Achievements
During the forum, Professor Nie Wei, Vice President of Shanghai Theatre Academy, together with representatives from Edinburgh City Council, University of Edinburgh, International Dance Teachers Association, and CECCI, unveiled the "Shanghai Theatre Academy Arts Practice Base (Edinburgh)". Simultaneously, Mr. Bryson Xue, Chairman of CECCI, and representatives from Dafeng Theatre Chain launched the "Dafeng Theatre Chain - China Europe Centre for Cultural Innovation Edinburgh Repertoire Selection Base", marking a new stage in China-Europe performing arts collaboration. The establishment of the "Asia-Europe Theatre Alliance" created a regular cooperation platform for performing arts institutions across Asia and Europe.
The forum gained significant international recognition, receiving extensive coverage from over 300 media outlets globally, including the UK, US, Japan, South Korea, as well as Chinese Hong Kong, Chinese Macao and Chinese Taiwan. Fully demonstrating its important value in promoting cultural exchange and cooperation between Asia and Europe.
