China Europe Centre for Cultural Innovation Conducts Visit to Intelligent Robot Service Centre (Hangzhou)

On January 30th, a delegation team led by Bryson Xue, Chairman of the China Europe Centre for Cultural Innovation and Vice Chairman Louise Wang visited the Intelligent Robot Service Centre (Hangzhou) for an inspection and exchange. The visit was accompanied by Jun Yang, Dean and Party Secretary of the School of Precise Intelligent Manufacturing at Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade.
Yuhang Luo, Director of the Intelligent Robot Service Centre (Hangzhou), briefed the delegation team on the centre’s independently developed robotic systems. The robots are primarily manufactured using 3D printing technology and feature modular designs covering joint reducers, motor systems, arms, and hand units. This approach reduces hardware costs while ensuring precision for teaching and experimental purposes.

The centre operates a full-process, practice-oriented teaching model. Students participate in structural disassembly, assembly of dexterous hands and robotic arms, full-machine integration, welding training, electrical control system debugging, and programming. Through the integration of machine vision, voice interaction, and motion control technologies, the program systematically enhances students’ competencies in mechanics, electronics, algorithms, and artificial intelligence.
During the demonstration session, the centre showcased service robots designed for reception, logistics delivery, and environmental cleaning. Humanoid robots also performed dance routines and demonstrated capabilities including voice interaction, gesture recognition, and intelligent dialogue.

Jun Yang noted that China’s humanoid robot industry is transitioning from “display-oriented” models to “interactive and application-oriented” development. By integrating 3D printing, intelligent control, and large-scale AI model technologies, humanoid robots are expected to achieve substantial industrialisation potential in education and training, public services, and cultural exhibitions.
Following the visit, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on international technical exchange, joint training programs, and achievement showcases. Leveraging its international network, the China Europe Centre for Cultural Innovation will explore cooperation mechanisms with the centre in educational practice and cross-cultural application scenarios for intelligent robotics, promoting the global dissemination and industrial implementation of technological outcomes.
