Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade Holds Exchange Session on the UK Study Camp and Student Exchange Programme “Telling China’s Story Well and Sharing China’s Voice”

On 29 November 2024, Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade invited Bryson Xue, Head of Higher Link International Centre, to deliver a special lecture entitled “Telling China’s Story Well and Sharing China’s Voice”, and to exchange views on the UK winter study camp and student exchange programme. Shen Dixiao, Head of the International Office of Edinburgh Napier University, was invited to attend the activity, which was joined by over 100 students from various secondary schools across the Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade.
During the lecture, Bryson Xue shared with the students the importance of telling China’s story well, presenting the practical experience of the Higher Link International Innovation Centre and the achievements made in international communication. Shen Dixiao from the International Office of Edinburgh Napier University joined the session via video link for a warm interaction with the students. She introduced the study and living environment at Edinburgh Napier University and provided an overview of the UK study camp and the student exchange programme with Edinburgh Napier University.
In June 2024, Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade dispatched an official delegation Team to the United Kingdom together with the Qiantang District visiting group to visit Edinburgh Napier University and Edinburgh College. During the visit, an MOU was signed, and, in collaboration with the Higher Link International Centre, four joint bases were established: ZJIET “Chinese + Vocational Skills” Teaching Base (UK), the Overseas Training Teaching Base for Students (UK), the Qiantang Area China Vocational Education Association Skilled Personnel Overseas Training Base (The United Kingdom), and the Qiantang Western Returned Scholars Association International Cultural Exchange Centre (The United Kingdom).These four bases provide extensive international platforms for teachers and students of both the Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade and Qiantang District, laying a solid foundation for advancing international communication.
The successful holding of this lecture provided students of Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade with a platform to gain a deeper understanding of international culture and broaden their global horizons. It also offered information and guidance for those interested in participating in overseas study programmes or pursuing further academic qualifications abroad.
