CECCI Visits Henan International Communication Centre for Talks on International Communication

A delegation from the China Europe Centre for Cultural Innovation (CECCI) visited the Henan International Communication Centre (HICC) on the morning of 16 June 2026 for exchanges on international communication and future cooperation.
The delegation was led by CECCI Chairman Bryson Xue and Council Member Jiaying Liang. They were received by Yancui Lu, deputy director of HICC, and representatives of the centre’s reporting team.
The two sides held in-depth discussions on international communication capacity building, new approaches to taking culture overseas, and cooperation among universities, media organisations and enterprises in talent development. They also reached a preliminary consensus on future areas of cooperation.
HICC is a professional media organisation for international communication. It was unveiled in Zhengzhou on 21 June 2023 and operates under the guidance of the Publicity Department of the CPC Henan Provincial Committee, with the participation of China Daily and Henan Daily Press Group in its international communication cooperation framework.
Before the meeting, Bryson Xue and the CECCI delegation toured HICC’s integrated media command platform, multilingual content production area and international communication showcase. The visit gave the delegation an immersive view of the centre’s work in content production, platform operation and overseas communication.
During the talks, Yancui Lu introduced HICC’s development, its communication matrix and its achievements in reaching international audiences.
Bryson Xue introduced CECCI’s background and its main areas of work. He said CECCI takes international communication as part of its mission and has long been active in cultural exchange between China and the rest of the world, with a focus on international cultural exchange, international communication, international cultural research and international education cooperation.
He said the visit was intended to gain a deeper understanding of Henan’s advanced experience in international communication and to identify areas where the two sides could work together.
During the discussion, the two sides exchanged views on regional culture going global, joint creation of international communication content, and the training of internationally oriented talent.
Both sides agreed that Henan, as an important cradle of Chinese civilisation, has rich historical and cultural resources and distinctive cultural IP, giving it strong potential for international communication.
CECCI has accumulated practical experience in cross-cultural exchange and international project operation, while HICC has clear strengths in content production, platform communication and overseas channels.
Looking ahead, the two sides said they could explore practical cooperation in the joint planning of cultural content, the co-hosting of international communication events, and talent exchange and training, with the shared goal of helping Central Plains culture reach a wider global audience.
Bryson Xue said he hoped the visit would serve as an opportunity to strengthen communication with HICC and promote deeper cooperation in international communication. He said the two sides could work together to tell Henan’s stories well, communicate China’s voice effectively, and contribute to enhancing the international influence of Chinese culture.
The visit marked an important step for CECCI in expanding its domestic network for international communication cooperation. It was also a practical effort to support culture going global and strengthen local international communication capacity.
CECCI said it would continue to uphold an open and cooperative approach, connect with high-quality international communication resources across China, and build more bridges for cultural exchange and communication.
